Daniel Owen’s practice
Professional clients and licensed access clients and, in the case of Public Access work, lay clients may contact Daniel Owen or Fenners Chambers to obtain a quotation for Daniel’s legal services. Contact details are available here.
Daniel’s most commonly-used pricing model for legal services is an hourly rate.
Daniel specialises in the law that governs our use of the world’s seas and oceans. Within that field, the practice areas in which he provides legal services are public law, international law and EU law. More details are available here.
The legal services that Daniel most commonly provides are legal advice and drafting. The main factor influencing the timescales of these services is his existing commitments.

Complaints
Information about Fenners Chambers’ complaints procedure is available here:
www.fennerschambers.com/uploads/files/Chambers_Complaints_Policy.pdf
If you make a complaint but are unhappy with Fenners Chambers’ final response, or if your complaint has not been dealt with within eight weeks, you can ask the Legal Ombudsman, an independent complaints body, to look into the matter.
Clients who have a right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman are individuals and, broadly speaking, small businesses and charities. The full list of who has a right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman is available here:
www.legalombudsman.org.uk/?faqs=who-can-use-our-service.
You can write to the Legal Ombudsman at PO Box 6806, Wolverhampton, WV1 9WJ. Alternatively, you can contact the Legal Ombudsman by telephone on 0300 555 0333 or by email at enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk
If you wish to involve the Legal Ombudsman, their time limits for accepting a complaint are six years from the date of the act/omission you are complaining about, or three years from when you should reasonably have known there were grounds to complain. In addition, you must raise your concerns with the Legal Ombudsman within six months of Fenners Chambers’ final response to your complaint.
More information about the Legal Ombudsman is available on their website:
www.legalombudsman.org.uk/
Decision data on the Legal Ombudsman’s website can be accessed here:
www.legalombudsman.org.uk/raising-standards/data-and-decisions/#ombudsman-decision-data
The decision data on the Legal Ombudsman’s website identifies those providers who have received an Ombudsman’s decision within the previous 12 months. In each case, the data shows whether the Legal Ombudsman required the provider to give the consumer a remedy.
